This Editorial Policy explains how My Rome Trip approaches research, writing, recommendations, updates and corrections. Our goal is to publish travel content that is useful, understandable and transparent about the difference between factual information and editorial opinion.
Our editorial principles
- Usefulness: content should help a traveler make a real decision or solve a planning problem.
- Accuracy: important factual information should be based on reliable sources and reviewed when meaningful changes are identified.
- Clarity: recommendations, estimates and opinions should not be presented as guaranteed facts.
- Independence: commercial relationships should not purchase a favorable conclusion.
- Transparency: affiliate relationships and sponsored material should be disclosed where relevant.
- Practical context: we aim to explain not only what a place is, but also how timing, transport, location, crowds, costs and traveler needs can affect the experience.
Research and sources
For details that can materially affect a trip, we prefer primary or authoritative sources where available. These may include official attraction websites, museums, transport operators, airports, municipal or regional authorities, tourism bodies and direct service-provider information.
Secondary sources may be used for additional context, comparison or traveler perspective. Information from forums, social platforms, reviews and other user-generated sources can be useful, but it is treated with greater caution because circumstances and individual experiences vary.
Prices, schedules and other changing information
Travel information is time-sensitive. Prices, opening hours, transport timetables, ticket rules, hotel policies, restaurant hours and reservation systems can change without notice. When we publish a price or schedule, it should be understood as information available at the time of review unless a source clearly states otherwise.
Readers should verify critical details on the relevant official website before travel, especially when a decision involves a non-refundable purchase, a timed reservation or an entry requirement.
Recommendations and rankings
Travel recommendations are editorial judgments. When we suggest a neighborhood, attraction, hotel, tour, restaurant area or itinerary, we may consider location, convenience, traveler type, value, practical limitations, transport access, seasonality, booking flexibility and the overall usefulness of the option.
There is rarely one objectively “best” choice for every traveler. Where useful, we explain trade-offs so readers can decide what fits their own priorities.
Affiliate relationships and sponsored content
My Rome Trip may earn commissions through affiliate links. Affiliate compensation does not guarantee inclusion, a favorable review or a higher editorial ranking. Where sponsored or paid content is published, it should be identified so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial material.
More information is available in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Updates
Articles may be updated when practical information changes or when additional detail can materially improve the page. Updates can include ticket information, prices, opening times, transport, maps, accommodation advice, links, seasonal notes or editorial recommendations.
Corrections
When we identify a meaningful factual error, we aim to correct it. Minor spelling, formatting and style changes may be made without a separate notice. If a substantive correction changes the practical meaning of an article, an explanatory note may be added when it helps readers understand the change.
Reader feedback
Readers can report possible errors or suggest updates by emailing admin@myrometrip.com. Please include the relevant page URL and, where possible, a reliable source supporting the correction.
Relationship with our legal pages
